This is a one semester course for sophomore level an above and will include the study of landscape planning, landscape design, landscaping materials, shrubbery and shade tree selection, planting and care, lawn care and care of landscape maintenance equipment. Field trips to actually plant trees and shrubs and to prune them will be part of the practical work. The course will include planning, installing, and caring for a landscape at a home. Horticulture work will include a review of plant growth and cultural practices in caring for fruit trees, small fruits, and vegetables.
