Assistant Child Care Teacher is an option for HS aged students to receive certification as an Assistant Child Care Teacher at the age of 17. Students receiving this certification may work in licensed daycare centers in Wisconsin. This certification is required and included training in Shaken Baby Syndrome, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and Mandatory Reporting. Students must also participate in a 10 hour work/job shadow experience and receive a minimum of 85% in the course, with a 85% attendance rating to be certified in the state of Wisconsin. HS credit may be obtained without meeting these requirements, however, technical school advanced standing will not be allowed unless the student earns certification.
